Warm temperatures continued into summer setting the stage for full ripening, fresh acidity and beautifully balanced fruit. The 2021 vintage was warmer than average with little rainfall leading to a relatively early bud-break. The fruit coming from the Chalk Hill AVA provides richness, concentration, viscosity and nuttiness, while the Carneros delivers structure and notes of apple and pear. 92 Points Wine Advocate The 2019 Chalk Hill Estate Chardonnay exhibits beguiling aromas of vanilla, orange blossoms, crisp apples and toasted marshmallows. Varieties Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Merlot, Cabernet, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Carmenère, Syrah and Semillon. Ruggedly beautiful 1,300 acre estate, 280 acres of vineyards planted to a patchwork of 60 small vineyard blocks. The 2021 vintage features Chardonnay sourced primarily from Foley Family estate vineyards in Carneros, Chalk Hill and the Sonoma Coast. Chalk Hill is the only 100 estate winery in Chalk Hill AVA nestled within Russian River Valley. While our estate vineyards are the cornerstone of our identity, our Sonoma Coast Chardonnay allows us to create wines of elegance with an expanded palette of exceptional cool-climate fruit.
